Last Sunday we talked about compassion, and this week we’ve been reading a lot about grace. Read the story of the good Samaritan in Luke 10:25-37.

Bible Devotion: Tuesday, 3/23/10

Read Romans 2 where Paul jumps right into preaching to the church.

This passage was not written to cause indifference – you’re either going to get excited and shout ‘Amen!’, feel guilty, or get mad.

How did this passage make you feel?

Bible Devotion: Monday, 3/22/10

Today we move into a new book, the book of Romans. This letter was believed to be written by the apostle Paul to the church in Rome sometime around 56 AD. Read chapter 1 of Romans.

The first twelve verses of this chapter are almost poetic as Paul ties together Old Testament history with his current day “Jesus events,” his relationship with God through Jesus, and his beautiful relationship with the church – both getting and giving!

Stop for a moment and think about what you get from your `brothers and sisters in Christ, and then think about what you give. (Love, encouragement, joy, etc.)

After describing these beautiful relationships, he goes on to describe the “other way” of living – ignoring God. How did Paul describe these lifestyles?

They say that history repeats itself. Can you see the lifestyle of these Roman times being reborn today? Both the good and bad examples?

In verses 13-15, how does meeting other people affect Paul? Have you ever felt that way?

Bible Devotion: Saturday, 3/20/10

Read Mark 6:30-56 to prepare for tomorrow’s service.

What picture of Jesus did you get from this passage? How would you describe Him?
