Notice: Resignation of Associate Pastor, James A. Miller

Dear Oasis of God,

It is with much prayerful consideration that I announce my resignation as associate pastor at Oasis of God, effective at the end of November 5th, 2011.

It has become apparent to me that the Holy Spirit is leading me to further fulfill the calling He has placed upon my life, teaching and demonstrating true worship of YHWH, the one true God. The scope of that calling requires that I continue to develop and exercise my skills of music performance and composition, Bible teaching, and team building, both within and outside of the Church. To that end, I have decided departing from Oasis will help me continue developing my ministry career to meet those demands.

Speaking for the Miller family, our time at Oasis has been enlightening. We have formed and deepened a number of friendships. For that we are thankful.

The coming days will be a transitional period. Rest assured once the Millers are no longer worshiping in the same building with you, we will still be praying for you. We hope and pray for greater things for Oasis of God, and all who are impacted by its reach. Thanks to each of you for having me as a part of the Oasis of God leadership team. It has been an opportunity and a pleasure.

Sincerely,

James A. Miller

2010 Annual Meeting Notes

Transition to Elder-Led Body
On 11/21/2010, attendees of Oasis of God’s annual meeting voted in favor of moving to an Elder-Led church body, transitioning from being solely under the control of the founding board. Initially the founding board chose the currently appointed leadership and staff. That leader/staff combination was later confirmed in overwhelming confidence during the 2009 annual church-wide meeting.

At this time Oasis of God operates with a three member Elder Board, including the Lead Pastor. Provision is made for various other church officers, and additional Elders as deemed necessary. This Elder Board meets the first Wednesday evening of each month at 5:30pm. The initial session of the meeting is open to all, with the final being closed session for private issues.

Amended Bylaws
Attendees of the annual meeting also voted to accept the recommended changes in Salt Ministries, dba The Oasis of God bylaws, as recommended by the Elder Board. Among these changes are an “Articles of Faith”, and a provision for membership. The goal is to encourage a belief system that reflects Biblical principles, truth, and is reflected in action by those choosing to identify themselves as followers of Christ.

A copy of the amended bylaws and Articles of Faith will be made available for download on the website soon.
